Pop Up Museum Croydon

In Autumn 2018 I project managed a pop up musuem for the London Transport Museum. The museum saw that their capacity for having more visitors to the covent garden site was exceeded and they wanted to support more people having access to their massive collection by taking it out into the wider community.

I was tasked with producing a touring experience for families and the wider public that would be a trial to see if it could work as a regular event. It showcased all the family activities that are on offer at the museum. I worked with community partners and local councils to secure the use of a dis-used shop in a Croydon shopping centre and a local library.

I worked with freelancers, volunteers and museum curators to offer storytelling and craft activities over the pop up take over. I also created play and role play spaces, object handling with experienced volunteers and performances for families which happened throughout the day. This project engaged over 800 visitors over the three days that it took place in Croydon.
